The Life Of A Writer – Operation Karaoke
Who said writers don’t have fun?!? LOL.
This year I made a commitment to myself to get out and try new things. Admittedly, I’ve always been the spontaneous type. However since launching my business and working from home, I have really worked myself into a familiar groove.
You probably already know where I’m going with this, as you may be there currently or have experienced something similar.
Basically its just doing the same old same old… day after day after day.
I thrive off of mixing things up, so before I worked myself too far into a familiar rut I wanted to shake things up. So the last few weeks, I’ve been bucking the norm and experiencing new things in my city.
Take for instance last night, I went to a Michael Jackson vs. Prince dance party and it was sooo much fun. The deejay played nothing but Michael Jackson and Prince hits all night. He even threw in some Janet and Apollonia for good measure. Just when I thought the night couldn’t get any better, a Prince impersonator showed up.
I danced all night to some of my favorite MJ and Prince songs, something I haven’t done in a long while. I wish I could have gotten some footage, but a lot of these clubs are iffy about video cameras.
The week prior, I decided to try karaoke and a band I’d never heard before. Check out a little of my weekend.
Have you found yourself doing the same thing day in and day out? If so, what have you done to spice things up? Please share in the comment section below.

I wish I could spice my weekends up, unfortunately our weekends now involves trips to chucky cheese. Anyways, thanks for passing by Mom's Tree House and I hope you will join us for the Writer's Club. : )
LOL. I've been there and done that and there's nothing wrong with it. I had some great times at Chucky Cheese
