I need their support and prayers. I struggled accepting my craft as something useful in society. They helped me to say "yes." I have a passion for writing and they know that. I have a dear friend who shares the same passion. She gets me. I had one friend tell me how amazed she was that I could write a story; that she couldn't begin to think of how to start one. I immediately thought that was odd. Doesn't everybody know how? Writing is how I communicate with my God and my world around me. For me, "To write is to breathe." Lol. But, I always think of the scene in Sister Act 2, when Whoopi Goldberg quoted Rainer Maria Rilke's Letters to A Young Poet: "Don't ask me about being a writer. If when you wake up in the morning, you can think of nothing but writing, then you're a writer." I try to remember that!
