Book publicity, an author’s secret weapon!

Did you catch my post a few weeks ago Why book publicity rocks?

Last Wednesday, I received a wonderful piece of publicity in a market that I have done little to no marketing. Jasper County News in Mississippi did a feature on my company and can I just say how estactic I am for this write-up. Click the photo above to read their write-up.

This is another great example of how book publicity can boost you into markets you may not have had access to. It would have taken a great deal of marketing to get in the homes of people in the small town of Bay Springs, MS. This is likely a market, I would have been unable to reach through the Internet and social media which makes this publicity all the more valuable.

This type of publicity not only targets a specific area but also taps right into the demographic of people who’d be interested in the books my company publishes.

Lets be honest… we all know its great when someone else talks about our books. Buyers are influenced by media, opinions of other consumers, and lastly us as the writer.

This type of book publicity is available to you as an author in whatever city you live in and whatever market you’d like to gain publicity in.

I am a huge advocate of marketing, but book publicity is the secret weapon that requires minimal effort on your part and you can target outlets that cater to your book’s demographic.

What kind of publicity has your book received? Please share in the comment section below.
