The Life of a Writer – The reason I write

A few months ago, I blogged about my upcoming fiction project Rules of the Game. If you missed the post, click here. Since then, I’ve started working on a non-fiction eBook entitled Marketing & Publicity for the author that should be available very soon!

I had no idea I’d ever write a non-fiction, let alone an eBook, so this current project is totally unexpected. The eBook details my successes and ups and downs as it relates to book marketing in an effort to assist other writers with their journey.

Last week while working on the eBook, I received an email on Facebook from a supporter I met in Atlanta at a book signing. Since the release of The Buzz last year, I have consistently received emails from this person and others asking when my next book will be out.

I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate these emails, because it’s a reminder of why I write. Knowing that I have the support of my readers is so humbling I can’t even put it in words.

During the writing process for The Buzz, I experienced so many different emotions as I’m sure most writers do. Will people like it? Will they get it? Is it good enough? And when I started receiving the reviews and these types of emails my fears diminished.

Receiving that email last week, reminded me of why I love writing  and its another reason why I stay motivated.

Why do you write? Please share in the comment section below.
